On July 4th this moron was stopped for not having a front license plate. This certainly isn’t the crime of the century; I myself have a late model sports car and I refuse to put a license plate on the front of it. I think it ruins the look of the car, and I do not want the holes in the front bumper cover. I have been stopped for that twice since I have owned it, and both times I told the officer why I refuse to put it on the car. Write me the ticket; I will pay the $150 fine, but I will not install the license plate. Both times it was a very simple traffic stop.
But it turns out that this idiot had more problems than a missing license plate. First, he was driving on a suspended Wisconsin license. Again, not the crime of the century. But instead of just accepting the ticket and moving on with his day he accused the officer of stopping him simply because he is black. He made a scene of it, and because he happens to be a Minnesota state representative he thought he could throw his weight around a bit, when in fact all this did was open him for a bit more scrutiny. Dumbass.

Thompson has a suspended Wisconsin license, yet had his driving privileges revoked in Minnesota for failure to pay child support. Minnesota law requires that you obtain a Minnesota ID within 60 days of becoming a resident of the state, yet Thompson claims to have been a resident for 18 years. Well wtf?
But that is just the tip of the iceberg. He has a long history of criminal behavior and accusations of domestic abuse. In 2003 he was arrested for hitting his girlfriend, and eventually pled guilty to disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. There are numerous other allegations with no charges.
Apparently after this flap he paid his past due child support. But nobody has asked some very simple questions. Why was it not paid in the first place? If he had the money then he should have paid it well before it became a public story. Did he only pay it because it became a public story? Someone with more access to information than I have should dig a bit deeper here.
His address from a 2018 speeding ticket is listed as Superior, Wisconsin. His address on the July 4th ticket is an address that is not in his district. Just how many frauds does this guy have going? DFL House Speaker Melissa Hortman has said she will lead an investigation. Hopefully that happens.

To their credit, several Democrat leaders in the state of Minnesota have stepped up and demanded this fool’s resignation. Kudos to them. But I suspect he will not voluntarily resign, so they need to figure out another way to get rid of this cancer. The investigation would be a good start, but I imagine there is also a provision in Minnesota law for removing a person from office. Use it. This thug belongs behind bars, not behind a desk in the Minnesota legislature.
