Senator Rick Scott Aerial Stunt in NYC

This one caught my eye today just because of the issue I posted in General Discussion about advertising. Florida Senator Rick Scott had a banner towed behind an airplane for the citizens of New York City telling them if they hate socialism to move to Florida. And I call this a stunt because that is exactly what it is. A meaningless act that does not actually accomplish anything other than get his name in the press, and judging by some of the comments posted by Floridians irritate his own base.

Senator Scott, this is not going to convince anyone that socialism is a bad economic system. At best all it will do is convince a dozen people to move to Florida from NYC where they will continue voting Democrat. You call that a win? The goal should not be to convince people to leave cities and states where socialist/communist views are taking root but to destroy it where it grows. Airplanes and banners will not accomplish that.

And what is with the leet speak? You spent thousands of dollars to do this and got stingy over a single character? The word to shortened to 2 is actually symbolic of one of the problems in this country. Everyone wants a shortcut and a quick fix.

There is no shortcut to defeating socialism. Certainly not one that just encourages people to move away from it which then removes any local opposition until that local economy completely collapses and the rest of us have to bail it out. No thanks.

Instead spend your money on getting a message out to mass amounts of people. Not to the few dozen who happened to look up and notice an airplane in NYC. I mentioned in that other article about advertising that the Democrats have spent enough money and time setting up a system that notices brand new websites like this one that have practically zero footprint and they have no idea if it will ever grow into something of real size. They take the chance that it will and spend the money to target it.

That is not me saying I want money to be funneled into this website. I will keep this site up and running even if it never makes a dime. That is me saying the left is being smarter about messaging. If they can devote resources to a tiny site like this then they can literally swamp sites like Facebook and X and Tik-Tok. Which we all know they are doing. They target the young mindless masses and have them indoctrinated by the time they are fifteen years old and are helped along by the teachers unions and the education system.

Taking the fight to that system head on is where we should spend our money. Not on airplane stunts.
