For Derrick Perry it was just a normal trip to the local Walmart, until some madman decided to start stabbing people. On Saturday July 26th Perry was doing his own thing at the Traverse City, Michigan Walmart when he discovered there was a man running around stabbing people with a knife. This so-called man stabbed eleven people and was attempting to leave when he was intercepted by a Marine with a concealed weapon.
Perry, 41 and a Marine corps vet, pulled his weapon and with the assistance of others forced the attacker to surrender. This group of average citizens led by Perry held the assailant until police arrived and placed him under arrest. This is the essence of American freedom. Normal every day citizens standing up for what is right and being willing to put it on the line when needed. This is the very definition of the term "good guy with a gun" and this country needs to see more of this kind of action. A lot more.
The liberal left in this country would have you believe that guns are the problem. Guns are not the problem. Maniacs that care for nothing but themselves and their own screwed up agenda are the problem. Drug dealers, gang bangers, psychopaths, terrorists, and garden variety petty criminals all have one thing in common. They do not care about you, only about what they can get from you. And when seconds count, the police are minutes away.
Mr. Perry and the other as yet unidentified men that stood up to this thug are the backbone of American society. Not the politicians and certainly not the pussified snowflake girly-men the left wants us all to be. Men who see a problem and take action to solve it. Men who know that sometimes you have to step up do something yourself rather than wait on a government solution and hope for the best. These men knew that and took action.
